Have you ever followed a preschooler on a tricycle? Or gone for a walk, holding the hand of a toddler?
The pace is unbelievably slow. Like, pull-you-hair-out-just-for-the-stimulation slow. I could take three steps backward for every step forward and still outpace my child. I could walk to our destination and back 62 times and my kid would still be in the same spot, staring intently at a snail. Unless the snail was moving too fast for my kid to keep up with.
It’s taken me a long time to really understand that this slow speed is actually a gift.
This blog is about that slow pace of life. I’m not perfect — in fact, many of my posts are about my struggle to live up to my ideal because, well, my failures are often spectacular and hilarious.
